Sketch
I sketched out the front cover to work out how my magazine would be laid out. The final product has changed slightly but the sketch is still very similar.

Gee Magazine - Target Audience
The magazine which I am doing is aimed at students (from the age of 16 - early 20s.) The magazine is aimed mainly at males as the majority of hip-hop listeners are male - therefore the colour schemes and choices of images reflect this - the images have a more masculine feel to it. I think that the magazine would appeal to people who suit this critera as the magazine will have a 'laid back' feel to it and be an 'easy read', something which many students would like. The language used will be unsuitable for younger audiences aswell as some of the pictures in it.
Gee Magazine
I chose 'Gee' for the name of my magazine as the word links in with hip-hop and 'gansters'. For the photos for the magazine I have chose my friend to star in them. I have taken lots and have chose the most suitable ones for each page. For the front page, I cut out an image in photoshop so that there was no background. The background of the front cover goes from white to a grey colour. I thought that this suited the image very well as 'Dioxide', the rapper who stars in the magazine is wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and a grey hoody. The front cover is almost finished but just needs a little tweaking. The contents page is almost finished aswell but also need a bit of work doing to it. The design for the feature article hasn't yet been started, but half of the feature article itself has been written. The first half of the feature article contains information about Dioxide. The second half of the feature article is an interview with Dioxide about his new album and includes interesting things about him. The design for the feature article will be started very shortly.

Oliver - look at my other posts!
More research needed on magazines and conventions, also now you need to scan and upload your mood board, rough sketches, props and costume lists, location lists and choices and planning of your magazine and the photographs you have taken and comment on how and why you chose them for your pages.
