Final Product

Here is my final product...

Mood Board

I created a mood board to help me develop my ideas and get an overall feel for my magazine design.

Questionnaire

To find out which type of magazine would be the most popular and the most successful, I asked a
random group of ten people to fill in a small questionnaire.

My results were...

Favourite genre for a magazine:

Pop = 1/10

Dance = 1/10

Rock/Indie = 1/10

RnB = 0/10

Hip/Hop = 7/10

Price for a monthly magazine:

£1-2 = 0/10

£2-3 = 6/10

£3-4 = 3/10

£4+ = 1/10

From the results shown, this is why I chose to do a Hip-Hop magazine. I decided the most suitable price would be £2.99.

Costume, Props and Location List

The person who I am going to photograph will wear the following clothing...
Black pants
White t-shirt
Grey hoody

No props are needed for any of the photos.

One photo is going to be taken next to a wall with graffiti on it, this will go in my feature article. Another will be taken with steps in the background, this will go on my contents. The front page photo will be cut out so the location doesn't matter for this one. The same applies for the second photo on my feature article - this will also be cut out.

Magazine Analysis

I decided to analysis a magazine front cover, contents page and feature article to help me see how magazines are laid out. I used a film magazine but this didn't matter as the codes and coventions are the same. I analysed 'Empire' magazine.

Layout

I sketched out a simple layout of my feature article and the contents page to help show where things go.
